Alumni Grand Master Letter
Greetings!
My name is Curtis Smith, and I have the honor of serving as the Grand Master of the Kappa Sigma Xi-Delta Alumni Association. I was initiated into Kappa Sigma on January 11th, 2003 as a proud member of the Pi Pledge Class of the Xi-Delta Chapter. Over twenty years have passed since that day, and I stand here to tell you joining Kappa Sigma was not just a college decision, it was a life decision.
To our potential new members and parents, we understand the questions you all may have. You’ve heard things about “Greek life,” both good and bad. Parents, you want to be certain your son’s college experience builds him into a stronger, wiser, better man. And that’s exactly why Kappa Sigma, and our chapter stands apart.
At the very heart of our fraternity are our Four Pillars:
• Fellowship – the genuine, lifelong bonds of friendship and brotherhood.
• Leadership – the opportunities to lead, to take responsibility, and to serve as an example.
• Scholarship – the commitment to academic excellence, with mentoring and resources to succeed.
• Service – the call to give back, not only to the chapter, but to our community and those in need.
These are not just words on a banner but they are principles we live by. They are the reason our members grow into men who excel in business, public service, the military, and every walk of life.
To our potential new members: You are standing at the threshold of something greater than yourself. If you join us, you are not simply signing up for events, you are pledging to carry on a legacy of leadership, service, and brotherhood. The friendships you will make here will be the ones who stand beside you at your wedding, become the godfather of your children, those who show up in your darkest hour, and who celebrate your greatest victories.
To the parents: Kappa Sigma is not about “buying friends.” It’s about surrounding your son with role models, a support network, and a set of values that will guide him long after graduation. Our members are held to a strict code of conduct, a high academic standard, and an expectation to serve others. We don’t just prepare men for the next four years, we prepare them for the next forty.
Kappa Sigma is for LIFE. Once you are deemed worthy to wear the Star & Crescent and wear our letters, you carry them in your heart forever. And we the alumni, the undergraduates, and generations of brothers before you will stand with you every step of the way.
So I invite you: step forward. Join us. And let us build, together, a future worthy of the name Kappa Sigma.

Curtis G. Smith, Jr

Welcome Letter from the Grand Master
Fall 2025
Brothers, Friends, and Future Kappa Sigma’s,
Welcome to Fall 2025. Whether this is your first semester or you’re finishing your senior year, this chapter offers a chance to grow, lead, and be part of something that lasts far beyond college. We’re not just excited for what’s ahead we’re committed to challenging ourselves, growing together, and living out the values that make this brotherhood truly different.
This chapter stands for more than just a name. We push each other to lead with purpose, show up when it counts, stay focused in the classroom, and make a meaningful impact beyond campus. Every brother brings something unique, but what unites us is the belief that who you surround yourself with shapes who you become. If you’re looking for something real, a group of men who will challenge you, support you, and walk with you far beyond graduation, I encourage you to stop by and experience it for yourself. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you see me around campus or have any questions. I’m always here to talk or help however I can.
Let’s make this a year we’ll always remember.

Information for Parents
At the Kappa Sigma Xi Delta Chapter, we understand that joining a fraternity is not just a student decision. It is a family decision. That is why we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where your student can thrive academically, socially, and personally.
While we do not currently operate a chapter house, our members benefit from a strong structure rooted in support and accountability. We host weekly study sessions, match new members with academic mentors, and recognize high achievement through scholarships and awards. Academic success is not just encouraged. It is expected, and it remains a core part of our chapter’s identity.
Safety and responsibility are woven into the fabric of our chapter culture. Our Risk Management program is built on proactive education, clear policies, and direct engagement from our alumni and advisors. Service and philanthropy are also central to our mission, with members actively supporting causes that make a lasting impact both on campus and in the community.
Our alumni continue to play an active role by mentoring members and preserving a family first culture that reflects our values. We also maintain full financial transparency, and families are always welcome to ask about dues, what they cover, and available payment plans.
Ultimately, we believe joining Kappa Sigma Xi Delta should enhance your student’s college experience, not distract from it. We are proud to offer a brotherhood that builds character, fosters leadership, and forms lifelong friendships that extend well beyond graduation.
Thank you,
Xi-Delta

Dues Overview
Chapter dues are an essential part of supporting the operations, programming, and events that make our fraternity experience meaningful and impactful. Dues help cover costs such as national membership fees, chapter events, recruitment efforts, educational programming, insurance, and community service initiatives.
We are committed to financial transparency and offer flexible payment plans to ensure affordability for all members. Families are welcome to reach out at any time with questions about what is included or how dues are structured. Our goal is to make sure financial obligations never become a barrier to joining or staying part of the brotherhood.
